I hate being asked to name my favourite anything. I have too many foods or films or songs or places or colours residing in my heart and it's impossible for me to tell you which I like most, I just don't have a favourite. I took a picture of a pile of films I bought because I liked them so much the first time round. These are just the favourites I own; there are many others I've seen, loved tremendously but just didn't buy.

Because the challenge asked me to name just one, I'm going to try and play the game properly. I would guess by number of times I go back and watch it, my very favourite film must be Muriel's Wedding. But while I'm looking at this pile of DVDs I am kind of gravitating towards As it is in Heaven. This film had a record run in one Sydney cinema - I think it was 6 months that they kept it playing. Michael Nyqvist was beautiful in this film, you'll truly fall in love with his character. Actually, you'll fall in love with almost all of the characters. Anyway, Nyqvist plays an internationally renowned conductor who aspires to create music that will touch people's hearts. At the start of the film, we see him suffer a heart attack on stage, which propels him to retire back to the village he grew up in, a place where he had endured terrible bullying. He is asked come and listen to the town choir and offer some feedback but the choirpeople clearly want his ongoing help and guidance. He reluctantly agrees to take on the role as conductor and an incredible, heart-opening journey begins. I won't tell you anymore in case I spoil it for you. It warmed my heart and made me cry buckets - one review called it the best thing to come out of Sweden since ABBA. I hope you see it one of these days!

What about you? What's your favourite movie?
Before I go I want to wish you a lovely Queen's Birthday long weekend. What's on the agenda for you? I'm going to try my best to keep posting and of course, I'll be checking your blogs when I'm gone, hopefully poolside and with a cocktail in hand ... for now I'm crapping myself and unable to think about anything else but this flight. I actually love exploring this wide world of ours but it's the "getting there" part that I have a significant trouble with!!!
